Vendor Code of Conduct

 

 

Purpose

This Vendor Code of Conduct contains general guidelines to ensure that Edify is conducting business of the Company consistent with the highest standard of business ethics. This Code applies to Edify’s business partners (including but not limited to suppliers, vendors, service-providers, and other individuals or businesses in which the Company interacts in the course of business) are also expected to comply with the standard set forth in this Code.

Code

In addition to the adhering to the policies and obligations listed in the Code, every business partner of the Company (including but not limited to vendors, suppliers, and manufacturers) must comply with all applicable federal, state, local, and international laws relating to the manufacture and production of products sold to the Company. All business partners must ensure that product that is made or sold to the Company is produced in factories where all employees are paid at least the federal minimum wage for all hours worked.

Child Labor - No use or support of child labor. Defined by, children under the age of 15 or under the legal compulsory age for completing education, whichever is higher.

No use or support of compulsory labor -  No withholding pay/benefits/property, personnel has the right to leave the premises after workday, personnel free to terminate employment, no use or support of human trafficking.

Health and safety in the workplace - Vendors will ensure employees have a safe and healthy work environment, and will not only comply local health and safety regulations but the standards of the SAI (Social Accountability International).

Freedom of Association and Right to Collective Bargaining - Vendors must respect the rights of associates to form and join trade unions and bargain collectively.

Discrimination - No discrimination of race, national or social origin, caste, birth, religion, disability, gender, sexual orientation, union membership, political opinions and age.

Disciplinary Practices - Treat all personnel with dignity and respect; zero tolerance of corporal punishment, mental or physical abuse of personnel; no harsh or inhumane treatment.

Working Hours - Normal workweek shall not exceed 48 hours, not including overtime, 1 day off following every 6 consecutive work days, with some exceptions; overtime is voluntary - only required if negotiated in CBA.

Remuneration - All vendors must respect the right of personnel to living wage, all workers paid at least legal minimum wage, paid in convenient manner, and overtime paid at premium rate.

Subcontracting - Vendors are not permitted to subcontract any part of their work, defined as all goods and services, without the written consent of Edify. Which then all subcontractor must comply with Edify Vendor Code of Conduct.
